Siteseeing - Keystone, South Dakota

John & Terri picked us up and we drove over to the Custer State Park Visitor's Center. The visitor center contains dioramas that explain the animals and geology of the park. While in the visitor center it began to rain, so we hung out for a while until the rain slowed down.

We then took the Iron Mountain Road over to Keystone. Iron Mountain Road has three tunnels that give you a view of Mount Rushmore Monument. It also has two Pigtail Bridges built in 1932. These bridges are made of wood and make tight 360 degree turns in the shape of a "pig's tail".

We stopped at one of the local restaurants for lunch then decided to "take in" the National President's Wax Museum. The museum is a self-guided tour with a handheld speaker that plays informational audio about each figure. The wax figures were lifelike, but I think they need a different hairstylist (those pictures not included).
We then took the Big Thunder Gold Mine tour. This mine was a "bust" with only a few hundred dollars worth of gold mined.
