WiiBJeepn' - Moab, Utah

This morning we left early for the Saturday morning Farmer's Market in Moab. It was a bust! Mostly arts & crafts, very little produce.

We drove back to the rig and picked up cameras and then headed to the Gemini Bridge Trailhead. This is one of the many trails in the Moab area and is used by mountain bikers, 4-wheelers, motorcycles and 4x4 vehicles. It is classified as a 2 on a scale with 4+ being the most difficult. Since we have a stock Jeep, we decided to skip the 3, 4 and 4+ trails. Most of these require lift-kits, larger tires and other expensive modifications. Parts of the trail were the most challenging we had experienced. One in particular was a steep incline sand pit. With only slightly modified street tires, there was a little slipping, but we made it! We will probably go with a little more aggressive tread when it's time to change tires.

The highlight of the trail is the Gemini Bridge Overlook (see pictures). We also found two geocaches in the area. We decided to drop-off the Jeep TravelBug we had picked up in Idaho. The trail and area seem appropriate.

A couple of shots from the Gemini Bridge Overlook. Bull Canyon is at the bottom.

We backtracked and took the fork in the road to the bottom of Bull Canyon. We were going to walk the short trail to the Gemini Bridge, but there were signs stating it was a "restoration area", so we skipped it. We stopped for a quick "potty break" and pictures. After piling back into the Jeep, I started to drive forward...crunch! John and I got out of the Jeep and looked under it. &$!!#% I had not looked where we had parked. There was a big rock under the Jeep. With John's help, I was able to maneuver off the rock. No damage, just some scrapes on the skid plates.

The road back. It was very quiet in the backseat on this section of the road. The RV Park in on the right in the background.
