Dead Horse Point State Park - Moab, Utah

Today we drove over to Dead Horse Point State Park. The park gets its name from the legend that cowboys herded some wild mustangs onto the point, corralled them with some trees and branches, culled out the best horses, and left the remainder without water. They eventually died. The views from the point are spectacular! The Colorado River winds through the canyon below.

After leaving the park, we headed back to Long Canyon Trail, to see if we could find the geocache we missed yesterday. After spending close to an hour, we still turned up empty.

On our way back to town, we stopped to view some Indian petroglyphs on the rock faces adjacent to Hwy 279.

We stopped in town for a late lunch and headed back to the campground. We stopped in the office to pay for another week and were surprised that there were no openings. We are be evicted! Terri called another park, on the other side of town, and they have space for both rigs for the next week. I guess next time we won't wait so long to extend our stay.
