Paradise South RV Resort - Valentine's Day 50s Sock Hop

The resort had their annual '50s Sock Hop this evening. Everyone dressed up in their favorite '50s outfits. We worked the concession stand (a.k.a. Al's Diner) serving hot dogs, root beer floats, chips, and sodas. Entertainment was provided by Elvis and the '50s. Everyone had a great time.

Paradise South RV Resort - Veterans

We spent the morning taking group photos of the veterans staying in the resort. The photos will be part of the display for the resort's Give Back to the Troops program. This program gathers items needed by the troops in combat zones (and not provided by the military) then packages and mails them to the troops. Here is a collage of the photos that we took.

Paradise South RV Resort - SPI Kite Festival

After church, we rode over to South Padre Island with Jerry and Charlene to the Kite Festival. As you can see from the pictures, there were some very large kites and some small acrobatic kites. There was one group of four guys that performed synchronized demonstrations to music. There was another guy who flew 24 kites at the same time. With the wind gusts, it was all he could do to hang on!
